About
The Neighbors Band
The Neighbors Band is a testament to the power of community, music, and serendipity. Our story began in the summer of 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic when Jeff Copper met Nancy Krzesicki. Seeking solace in music during those isolating times, Jeff played the guitar while Nancy sang. Their first outdoor performance took place on August 20th, 2020, on a dock behind a hotel in the Florida Keys—a simple beginning that planted the seeds of something bigger.
On June 11th, 2021, Jeff met his new next-door neighbor, Mike Strouseman. Over beers in their driveways, they discovered a shared passion for music, as Mike revealed he played the drums. The trio began jamming together, transforming casual evenings into musical sessions in their living rooms.
A year of fun and informal jam sessions passed, and at a local homeowners association party, Jeff, Nancy, and Mike shared their musical pursuits. They met Kim Norquist, Mike's next-door neighbor, and invited him to join their jam sessions on January 10th, 2022. With Kim on guitar, their musical synergy started to grow.
The quest for a pianist within the neighborhood didn't yield a suitable match, but fate had another plan. On November 5th, 2022, Jeff reconnected with an old friend, Susan Guidi. Susan, who had played harmonica in her family band as a teen and learned the keyboard during the pandemic, joined the group, completing the lineup. With Susan's addition, The Neighbors Band was officially formed.
Over the following months, the band honed their skills and expanded their repertoire. Their first official gig was on May 5th, 2023, playing for their local homeowners association at a pool party. Jeff and Nancy, known as The Neighbors Lite, also performed at open mics in Aberdeen, NC, and Indianapolis, IN, paving the way for more opportunities.
Their growing popularity led to performances at private birthday parties and their first public gig at Malone's Irish Pub in Carrollwood. Despite a brief slowdown due to travel and other commitments, the band resumed their momentum with a two-town tour in late May 2024, playing another HOA party and a gig at Malone's Irish Pub in Westchase. The positive feedback from regulars affirmed their improvement and dedication.
Today, The Neighbors Band boasts a full set of equipment, a diverse playlist featuring music from the '60s, '70s, '80s, and part of the '90s, and the consistency to bring vibrant entertainment to private events, parties, local market festivals, and more. We invite you to join us in celebrating our musical journey as we continue to share our passion with the public.
